Mes de febrero

In keeping with the “Can do statements” from World Languages, during the first half of February, our Knights in Kindergarten will be exposed to vocabulary relating to the family.

In first grade, our Knights will review previously learned vocabulary and expand on it by identifying words of extended family members. They will also work on speaking and writing sentences that describe immediate family members while using two adjectives.

Our Knights in second grade will also review previously learned vocabulary and describe family members, immediate and extended, writing two to three sentences. They will also practice asking and answering questions using the verb tener.

During the second half of February, our thematic units in Kinder through Second will focus on animals. Our Kinder Knights will focus on identifying and naming four farm animals, four domestic animals, and four zoo animals.

Our First Grade Knights will identify zoo and farm animals. They will then focus on describing animals and answering simple questions using colors and body parts.

Our Second Grade Knights will describe 3-5 wild and domestic animals using 2 attributes. They will read a short story about animals, supported by visual cues and answer 2 related questions about the characters, setting or plot.
