Dear Parents/Guardians,

Writers’ Night – March 30, 2017 – 5:30 p.m. / Classrooms

Knight Writer Icon - KnIght holding pen as a lance and laptop as a shieldJoin us for an evening designed to celebrate student growth!  Guests and parents/guardians are invited to tour our classrooms, interact with our personalized learning work, partake in a gallery walk, and review digital portfolios!  Our community of learners eagerly anticipate this night every spring.

This year’s theme is, The Power of Words, inspired by Conceptual artist, Barbara Kruger. In conceptual art, the idea or concept is the most important part. She marries smart word choice with clever pictures to make a big impact. A digital slide show will be presented to illustrate fifth grade student creativity and the connection between visual and language arts. Please join us to acknowledge our Knights’ artistic achievements and our commitment in implementing the, to ensure that each student is healthy, safe, supported, and engaged.

Science Night is coming to Nottingham on Tuesday, April 4th!

Please mark your family calendar to join your child/children and Science Lead Teacher Mrs. McKenzie for an evening of scientific exploration.

STEAM Museum  Portable Hands-On Museum | Grades K-6Program: S.T.E.A.M. MUSEUM  –  A friendly reminder to sign your child up for a session at our upcoming Science Night. From 4 – 8 pm, there will be 40 minute sessions conducted by the STEAM Museum.  Knights must be registered: (no cost) for a session to attend.

If your child(ren) attends Extended Day and you wish them to visit during that time, sign up for one of the first two time slots and indicate that your child is in Extended Day.  Students not attending through Extended Day must be accompanied by an adult (maximum of 5 students/adult).

From 6 – 8 pm, in the multi-purpose room, the Science Department is offering hands-on activities run by student volunteers. There will be two very special presentations, one will be by AES Energy Company and the other by a Parent Scientist.  These activities do not require a sign up.
