The Mud Dauber is a type of wasp that lives in North America, Central America, South Africa, and the West Indies. Mud Daubers are not aggressive and are solitary. Mud Daubers are useful because they hunt spiders to feed their young.
Mud Daubers are about two and a half to three centimeters long and eat spiders. They are distinctive because of their black and yellow coloring. People can identify a mud dauber by its long and narrow “waist”.
